Lithology and Thickness
It is made up of transgressive marine mudstone and carbonates and regressive evaporites with cyclic sequences of alternating salt, anhydrite, gypsum, dolostone form a regional seal for the underlying Triassic reservoir rocks (Benvegnù, 2020). Corresponds to Saliferous Units Fm of Ghadames Basin region.

It conformably overlies the Zarzaitine Inferieur Fm.

It is conformably overlain by the Zarzaitine Superieur Fm.
